History
Established in 1953.Louie's on Main, formally the long-established and Garden Grove's original bar, the Rainbow Room, re-opened for business on July 31, 2008 after an extensive building remodel and earthquake retrofit project.Brothers George and Louis Stavros opened the Rainbow Room in 1953 and together ran the operation for over fifty years. Louis passed away in December of 2006. And up until his death, could be found behind the bar on Sunday mornings catching up with old friends. Among other things, Louis was known by patrons for his quick whit, sense of humor and kind heart.Today, proprietor Angelo Tavlarides has taken much care to preserve the long and colorful history of the business all the while creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere rich with class and character. After much debate, the family chose to rename the business Louies On Main, after Louis. With a new, much larger menu, over 30 beer choices, a full bar and great employees Louies On Main is ready to take your order!

Since the old Rainbow Room was remodeled and reopened as Louie's I have enjoyed this place. Kinda old school bar with a tiny but efficient kitchen. The kitchen is at one end of the seating area and consistently puts out great appetizers and sandwiches. A great craft beer selection and this great ambiance makes it a favorite of mine for lunch or afternoon brews.

Being from the East Coast, they make a mean southern style burger. The place is small and tucked away almost like a speakeasy. The bartenders were cool. Definitely a chill spot.

I love Louie's on Main. In short, the manner with which they articulate their offerings in the photos that are posted kind of says it all. Classy, clean, low key environment, appointed in an understated masculine way. I was immediately comfortable. The beer and ale offerings are very well selected. The chef does an amazing job. I will return again and again. Enjoy!
